Here is some
of the music performed by Exit 97 Band and others at the Blake Family
Reunion
Labor Day Sunday at the Tannehill State Park's old school
house.
As I mentioned on the main Blake Reunion page, this isn't the full
band. They created this group from the full band to practice a
few gospel tunes and acoustic guitar. The band opened with an
acapella version of the national anthem then sang "I Saw The Light"
next.
Exit 97 - "I
Saw The Light"
Exit 97's lead singer, Willie, asked us to join the band to sing something. Cousins Sharron
& Lilly Faye sang, "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels"
Later, Exit 97 invited those of
us who brought guitars to join in. Joseph and I joined them in
playing and singing, "Sweet Home Alabama" with a twist. Willie
added "ROLL TIDE ROLL!" These guys really know how to entertain.
