BLAKE FAMILY REUNION MEMORIES
Many
of us have memories of previous reunions. These family gatherings
were in conjunction with the Cahaba Valley Church's Homecoming and
their dinner on the grounds. That's why there were so many other
people there we were not kin to. Lucille Vest, Lillie Warren,
Lorene Parks, and others would expect their children and grandchildren
to bring their food to those concrete tables by the river every June.
Here are some memories of those reunions shared by family members:
"I
remember I was always terrified of those black and orange grasshoppers
that were all over the church cemetery, and that was the first/only and
hopefully last outhouse I had ever seen/used...lol"
"Outhouses? ... I always worried about an unseen huge wasp nest lurking underneath the boards around the hole. OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH"
