From the state the line to Salt Lake City, UT

These guys were standing on the side of the road photographing the Welcome to Utah sign as we passed over the state line.  The elevation sign just beyond tells us our elevation has dropped to just over 4,700 feet.

Not far, we passed over the Green River.

Maybe they call it that because, with irrigation, there are green crops in this desert.

But for the most part, it's still desert.

There's also a town by the same name.

And in the distance there more desert...

... and some interesting rock formations.  Utah is famous for rock formations and beautiful desert scenery.  Near Moab, Utah (off I-70), lies Arches National Park with it's arched rock formations.

A road sign tells us we're less than 2 hours from our destination.

The interstate curves through some interesting geology.

I don't know if this one has a name.  I'd have called it "The Pennacle."

As we near Price, Utah, we were joined by the Price River which borders the interstate for some distance.

Here's a closer view of the river.

As we entered Utah County, the elevation increased to 7,477 feet.

More interesting geology.

There were interesting buildings along the way.

This slow moving delivery van must have passed us while we were gassing up at the last stop.

A customized hot rod zooms past us and the delivery van.

Hey, that's no delivery van.  Look at that barefoot driver!

Well, those dark rain clouds finally caught up with us.

But we escaped them again as we turned onto I-15.

Ah, but it looked like they were about to catch us again.  In the distance, the view was obscured by clouds and moisture.

Although there was lots of lightning, we were pleased to see this rainbow which followed us until we parked the car in the hotel parking deck.
