Aug. 17, 2011 - Nauvoo Tour - The Visitor's Center
We slept in a bit Wednesday morning resting
up from our trip so far. After we got up, we ate breakfast from
the motel's restaurant then we put on our Sunday best and headed down
the hill.
Our first stop was at the Nauvoo Temple, a stunning building, where we stayed until lunch time.
After
going back to the motel and changing into something more comfortable,
we went to the Visitor's Center to get tickets for tonight's show.
While there, we also got tickets for a buggy ride that was
scheduled for 2:15 PM.
The
wait gave us 45 minutes for Linda to visit the Monument to Women
Memorial Garden adjacent to the Visitor's Center and take some really
nice photos.
While she photographed the sculptures, I took a few closeups I thought were interesting.
This view kind of made me think how kids look up to their moms.
While I clowned around, Linda took a photo of me.
So I repaid the compliment.
She photographed some of the beautiful flowers in the garden.
Some of them were really different.
See what I mean?
But
the time arrived for us to stop taking pictures and board the buggy
ride. I took this last photo as we were getting ready to leave.
