2010-01-13 getting started with the electrical wiring
Of course plumbing and electrical
have to be installed before anything else. There's no plumbing to
install so, for the electrical service, all I needed was a buried wire
from the breaker box in the house. For the run outside we
installed a large conduit.
My son-in-law and an electrician friend from church buried the cable
and conduit for me.
The service inside the storage building terminated in a 60 amp breaker
panel.,
I bought a roll of 12-2-G Romex, some light fixtures, outlets,
switches, and boxes, and got to work.
Only a building permit was needed. The cost was reasonable.
An electrical permit wasn't necessary for an unoccupied storage
building according to the building inspector but I got one
anyway. It didn't cost anything.
It took me a few weeks to finish the job because I was always either
being interupted by more pressing matters or running out of
energy. I hate getting old but I have to accept that things take
longer to complete nowadays.
I'm not sure why Linda took this shot. Maybe she just wanted to
see how goofy I looked with my mouth open???
I didn't take a photo of what the place looked like after the wiring
was done and before anything else but you can see the result in the
following pages.
That's the end of this part of
