2009-10-15 Our 5th Anniversary
Day 3 - October 10th
We
decided to sleep in and rest from the activities of the Shrimp
Festival. We ate brunch at Lamberts. There are only 3
locations, 2 are in Missouri and one in Foley, AL near Gulf Shores.
We've eaten at two of them.
They're famous for passing
around food after you're already been served. A waiter will come
around with a large bowl of fried okra, black-eyed peas, etc. and shout
what he has. If you want some, just raise your hand. But be
careful raising your hand when they shout, "Hot Rolls!" They
don't come to your table, they just throw the bread across the room.
We
went shopping most of the day and returned to our motel room in late
evening. On the beach were more young people playing volleyball.
They were really good and fun to watch.
Sunset over the water can make for some beautiful colors.
As the sun went down we watched this young family tend their little daughter as others played in the surf in the distance.
