August 14, 2011 - Sunday

We were set apart as missionaries by our stake president 2:30 Sunday afternoon.

Linda had visited Dana, Chrysti, and the girls near Atlanta on Wednesday.  She had lunch with Wendy Thursday and with her mom on Friday.  We visited with my children who live in Georgia Saturday afternoon.  After we said goodbye to them Sunday afternoon we went to meet our stake  president then on to Alabama to visit relatives there.

As we crossed the Alabama state line we saw the welcome sign which says, "Alabama the Beautiful."  It is, but not quite so beautiful through the windshield I failed to clean before taking this picture.

But as they say, there's a silver lining behind every cloud.

Or is it, "There's a big, black cloud inside every silver lining"?

That's what it seemed as we drove through a heavy downpour from 7:30 to 7:45.

Fortunately it was only a summer rain and we soon made it to my son David's house.

We visited with 2nd son David, his wife, Marie, and my oldest son John, his wife Tracy, and their family.  This is John's daughter Jordon and his granddaughter Summer, Jordan's niece.

I got John and Tracy to pose for this picture for us to remember them by since we won't be seeing them again for at least a year.

We spent the night with David and Marie.  Marie had a nice, clean bed ready for us to rest from all the packing and traveling.  We were grateful for her kind hospitality and enjoyed our stay.
